Artical: The Girl Project Lets Teens Reveal Their World

In my cyberARTS class we had to read a article from the website pdnonline.com

The article i did was The Girl project. Which is about a New York photographer who started the Girl Project. What it is, is Kate Engelbrecht New York photographer sent out single use Kodak cameras to girls in America between the ages of 13-17. So far the results of the project is good. They found that most girls were taking pictures of themselves and friends. The media presents girls as these boy crazed beings, but really theirs not. I found this article interesting because it shows that people believe the media, and if the media says something people feel they have to either live up to it or believe it. When really They media is the one who creates the image of what teenager's,adults,children, etc. should be like. I think this is a really inspirational idea and it will let the world see that the media doesn't portray the reality of people.
